The July 27 book is The Dutch House by Ann Patchett.  This Pulitzer finalist is a dark fairy tale about two souls who cannot overcome their past.  After WW II, Cyril Conroy tries his luck by investing in real estate, elevating him through the social classes.  The story is told through Danny, Cyril's son, as he and older sister, Maeve, are exiled from the house by their stepmother. The two show just how strong a bond between siblings can be -- and how that bond can be tested. Contact the Spring Hill Branch for a copy of the book and the discussion questions.
