Program Description

Event Details

In this workshop, we will learn the steps to make a puff quilt from start to finish. This quilt, also called a biscuit or bubble quilt, was a popular design in the 70s and even before that - the 1880s! Today, this quilt has made a resurgence yet again.

This hands-on workshop will teach you the basics of making this quilt so you can go home and create your own puffy masterpiece. The 3D texture is made by stuffing individual fabric squares to create a soft puff. We will make a sample block in the class to learn the steps. Students will not need to bring any supplies, as the materials to make a sample block will be provided. Attendees will also receive a basic pattern they can use to build their own design at home.

This is not a beginner sewing class, and students should feel confident operating a sewing machine. When you sign up for a spot, please indicate if you will be using a library sewing machine, or bringing your own from home. If you opt to bring your own, a 1/4" quilting foot is helpful, if you have one.

It is important to arrive on-time. Latecomers will not be admitted. Limited spaces. Registration required.
