Celebrate Women's History Month with a discussion of chapter 8, "World War II and Its Aftermath, 1941-1961," from the book They Dared to Dream: Florida Women who Shaped History by Doris Weatherford.  Nothing changed Florida as much as World War II. Millions of people moved here during its four years; after the war's end, many became permanent Floridians. The 1940 census showed Florida to rank 26th in state population; by 1960 it had soared to the 10th most populous of the 50 states. For adults. Space is limited. Registration required.
