Program Description

Event Details

The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah is a novel of WWII--a tale of two sisters, set largely in the worst of times. When the Nazis conquer France, the sisters’ lives change drastically. After her husband becomes a POW in Germany, Vianne is forced to take in an enemy captain, relying on him to ensure there’s food on the table for her daughter, while her sister Isabelle joins the Resistance, leading fallen airmen fighting for the liberation of France over the mountains to Spain and safety. This homage to the extraordinary courage of Frenchwomen during the war was inspired by true stories. Contact us via the email address provided for a copy of the book and the discussion questions. For adults. Copies of the book are limited. Registration required.
