Event Details
It's 1971, and crime and violence are at an all-time high in Harlem. As Ray Carney's business--"four years of honest and rewarding work in home furnishings"--expands, the Black Panthers and the Black Liberation Army are on the rise. When his teenage daughter expresses her wish to see the Jackson 5 perform at Madison Square Garden, Carney contacts a crooked NYPD cop and fixer for tickets, and then finds himself drawn back into the criminal world he thought he'd left behind. Contact us via the email address provided for a copy of the book and the discussion questions. For adults. Space is limited. Registration required.
